The 2024 Igor Carl Fabergé Foundation International Award presented to Spanish artist Teresa Escudero

18 Sep 2024

Spanish artist Teresa Escudero has brought together in her jewelry creations all facets of her journey and her very personal universe. Each of her creations embodies a sculptural concept that, much like a musical composition or a painting, emerges from rigor and a creative approach. Teresa’s rare, sensual, and sophisticated pieces are the result of a concept rooted in mythology, the dream world, and natural and human history; forms of the universe’s vibrations as a vehicle to explore and create forms. Her creations are also the fruit of innovation through research and the differential use of materials; materials sometimes as strange to most of us, especially in jewelry, as metallic meteorites. In addition to precious stones, she also uses rare and precious stones treated in their raw state by herself, exotic woods, fossils, rare natural pearls, fire enamel, and rock crystal.

Teresa Escudero holds a degree in History from the University of Santiago de Compostela. She was invited by the IGE (Spanish Gemological Institute) where she gave several lectures on “Meteorites in Royal Jewelry of Ancient Civilizations.” Teresa received the UK LuxLife Global Excellence Awards 2020 and 2021 for handcrafted fine jewelry and artistic jewelry, respectively. She is a member of “Women of Jewelry,” a group of 100 female jewelers from around the world and part of the book of the same name by American writer and jeweler Linda Kozloff-Turner, presented at Sotheby’s New York on September 9, 2023.

In May 2023, Teresa was selected by the international GemGenève fair organization as an “emerging talent.”

In August 2024, Ms. Escudero received the Igor Carl Fabergé Foundation International Award for her creativity and innovative spirit in jewelry production in the tradition of Carl Fabergé.
