Exhibition in Vladivostok: “The Fabergé Era. The Golden Age of Russian Art and Jewelry”

14 Nov 2024

On September 4, 2024, the Vladimir K. Arseniev Museum of Far Eastern History in Vladivostok inaugurated an exceptional exhibition, The Fabergé Era: The Golden Age of Russian Jewelry, which celebrates the talent of Carl Fabergé and the jewelers of his time. More than three hundred unique pieces are presented, including jewelry, accessories, tableware, as well as exclusive commissions created for the Imperial family. Among the highlights of this exhibition are three famous Easter eggs created by the House of Fabergé: the “Alexander Palace,” the “Tercentenary of the Romanovs,” and the “Steel” egg, the final gift from Nicholas II to his wife Alexandra Feodorovna.

The opening ceremony brought together Olga Lyubimova, Russian Minister of Culture, and Victor Shalay, director of the museum, while a video message from Elena Gagarina, director of the Moscow Kremlin Museums, was also broadcast. “These rare objects, from the collections of the Kremlin Museums, are much more than precious jewels. They bear witness to the rich and complex history of Russia,” stated Olga Lyubimova. Elena Gagarina also emphasized the importance of this collection, which allows visitors to discover treasures rarely exhibited outside Moscow. Finally, Victor Shalay wished to thank the institutions and patrons who made this event possible, notably the Ministry of Culture and local authorities, for their constant support in this project. This exhibition is a true collaboration in service of promoting Russian art and heritage.

The exhibition will be open until January 12, 2025.
